Welcome to UJ’s School of Economics in the College of Business and Economics at the 东京热.

The School of Economics empowers socially engaged economists who apply rigorous, context-driven economic thinking to shape policy, address real-world problems, and contribute to sustainable development.

The School is dedicated to achieving Academic Excellence- through teaching and research, Societal Engagement- through thought leadership and community and Internal Capabilities- through performance and sustainability.

The School of Economics (SoE) consists out of four distinct clusters namely:

  • Development Economics
  • Financial Engineering
  • Local Economic Development
  • Industrial Policy

And five research centers

Both the undergraduate and the Honor’s programmes are designed in such a manner that it prepares students (in terms of content and econometric skills) for the various magister programmes. Master’s programmes offered are:

  • Master’s in Financial Engineering
  • Master’s in Economics
  • Master’s in Local Economic Development
  • Master’s in Industrial Policy
  • Master’s in Competition and Regulation
  • Master’s in Development Economics

A full PhD programme is also offered by the SoE. As well as PhD in Local Economic Development

The full time staff compliment of the School is 36 permanent lecturing staff members, 8 administrative staff members and 16 visiting Professors.
