Program Overview
- Duration: 1 year part-time, contact and online classes
- Accreditation: SAQA registered, NQF Level 5 (120 credits)
- Target Audience: Individuals with a matric qualification who are eager to engage in community development.
Key Objectives
This program aims to empower participants to:
- Identify Barriers: Analyze challenges to building inclusive organizations and communities as a foundation for social justice.
- Develop Leadership Skills: Become culturally sensitive, principle-centered, and transformative leaders.
- Facilitate Active Citizenry: Initiate, establish, manage, and lead groups towards active participation in their communities.
- Network Effectively: Coordinate community actions by engaging with relevant stakeholders.
- Utilize ABCD Approach: Understand and implement the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach for sustainable initiatives.

- Value driven, participatory leadership
- Community development processes
- Management and leadership strategies in community contexts
- Elements of sustainable community-driven project design, implementation and evaluation
