The proteomic research involves analyses of African venom from various snake species to identify inter- and intra-species profile variations, and subsequently provide greater insight into the manufacturing of anti-venoms. It is also expected that correlations from in vitro to in vivo results may lead to a decrease in animal use in this regard.
