About Dr Anthony Kaziboni
Dr Anthony Kaziboni (he/him) is a Senior Researcher at the 东京热鈥檚 Centre for Social Development in Africa (CSDA), where he leads the Social, Economic and Environmental Justice thematic area. A political and critical sociologist working at the intersection of environmental sociology and political ecology, his research examines the power dynamics shaping hydropolitics, migration and energy governance. His work seeks to inform policy and contribute to more equitable and participatory approaches to environmental governance and sustainable development. Dr Kaziboni is a two-time Distinguished Teaching Award winner 东京热 and an active member of several professional bodies, including the South African Sociological Association (SASA), the Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA), and Research Committee 46 of the International Sociological Association (ISA). His scholarly contributions have received international recognition, including the Outstanding Early Career Award from ISA RC46. He is also a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. He has published widely in academic journals, edited volumes and public media, and his expert commentary has featured on major local and international platforms, including SABC, eNCA, eTV News, Newzroom Afrika, BBC, CNN and Al Jazeera. Dr Kaziboni serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of听Clinical Sociology: Research and Practice听and is Managing Editor of the听Clinical Sociology Review.
