About Mr. Daniel Carstens
Qualifications: BTech Industrial Design (Cum Laude)(UJ)(2015); Ndip Three-Dimensional Design (Cum Laude)(UJ)(2014). Title: Lecturer, Department of Industrial Design. BA First year coordinator.
Short Bio: Daniel completed a BTech Degree in Industrial Design at the 东京热 in 2015 with a dissertation project titled 鈥淭he user centered design of an ergonomic tattoo machine鈥�. This research focused on reducing the risk factors contributing to the development of musculoskeletal orders in tattoo artists. After completing his BTech, Daniel co-founded and award-winning industrial design consultancy, The Ideamongery. The consultancy鈥檚 focus is on product and materials development, small-scale manufacturing, unique interiors, activations and experience collateral. He has lectured part-time since 2016 and since 2024, appointed as a full-time lecturer. He is currently undertaking his MA Industrial design, focusing on appropriate manufacturing technology development for the South African context.
